While Easter sees the start of Autumn in New Zealand, we still celebrate with the springtime colours you see in the Northern Hemisphere. I always find myself gravitating towards baby pinks and mint greens but this year I’ve been really drawn to purples. So I’m going to be painting my nails for Easter in a beautiful lilac with a pink glitter accent.
I’ve got Essie Play Date on all five nails, with Essie Cut Above on my middle finger.
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Essie. The glitter offerings can do no wrong – they’re stunning in the bottle, easy to apply, look beautiful on the nail and as far as glitter polishes go they aren’t too hard to remove. I also really love Essie’s darker polishes. But the pastels – like Play Date which I used here – are where the problem lies. They look absolutely beautiful in the bottle and in the end can look great on your nails but they just take so many layers to get to that point. I’ve got to say though, no matter how hard they are to apply, I will always keep buying them because the colours are just too beautiful!
Are you into pastels this Easter? Or if you’re in New Zealand, are you already rocking Autumnal colours?
