For some reason the earlier I get up the slower I move. On the weekends if I roll out of bed at 9 or 10, it takes me no more than 30 minutes to get ready – during the week though often need an hour. So the easier my makeup routine the better!
That’s where the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows come in – they’re the perfect ‘one sweep and a little blending’ and you’re done kind of eyeshadow.
I’d seen these in stores and all over beauty blogs for months but never picked one up. They looked absolutely gorgeous but just didn’t seem like me as I’m more of a palette girl. I saw them on sale though so decided to pick up a couple and I’m so glad I did.
It literally takes me less than two minutes to do my eye makeup when I use these. I’m still very much a palette girl and my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is probably my favourite piece in my collection but it’s nice to change things up every now – and these eyeshadows are perfect for that!
I’m sure you’ve all seen/read/heard about them before but in case you haven’t – they’re pressed pigments that come in a range of stunning, shimmery colours. As they’re fairly loose, things can get kind of messy if you’re not careful. It’s best to use a patting motion rather than a sweeping motion with these – I guess this post should have been called one pat eyes but it just didn’t have the same ring to it.
If I’m using one of the lighter shades – like I did today with ‘Blinged & Brilliant’ – I simply pat on the eyeshadow with my finger. If I’m going for a more intense look with a darker shadow such as ‘Cosmic Black’ I take a flat eyeshadow brush, pat it in the pot, tap off the excess and then pat it on my eyelid up to my crease. I then take a fluffy blending brush and blend my crease so the line isn’t harsh. Finally, I take a pencil brush and bring a little bit of the eyeshadow on the outer 2/3 of my lower lash line.
I finish it all off with loads of my favourite mascara – at the moment that’s Benefit They’re Real.
These are extremely pigmented and look absolutely stunning when you first apply however if you don’t use primer, it will start disappearing mid afternoon. If you use eye primer, it will last until you wash it off!
I’d highly recommend the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows if you’re looking for something that’s easy to apply yet packs a lot of punch and looks like you’ve spent hours perfecting your look!
