My jewellery collection holds some of my most precious possessions. What I love about jewellery is that it makes an ordinary outfit feel so special. If the piece of jewellery holds a special meaning then that feeling of specialness is even greater. Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere recently shared some of her favourite jewellery pieces and why they mean so much to her. I really enjoyed reading it so I thought I’d do a similar post.
Myron bought this for me back in 2011. Myron and I started dating in high school, and this necklace was the first major present he bought me when we were adults.
Ever since I remember I’ve had my mom’s wedding ring and it’s so dear to my heart. On a side note – this ring is made of yellow gold, rose gold and white gold, and it sparked my love for copper and rose gold.
My mom bought me this next ring when I “graduated” primary school. I had done really well that year so mom wanted me to celebrate it. Whenever I wear this ring it sparks a little ambition and determination in me to work hard.
My birthstone is topaz so for my 21st birthday Myron bought me this yellow-stoned ring. It’s quite big so I don’t wear it often but it’ll always be special to me.
Going over each of my charms would take far too long so I might end up doing a separate post on that. My mom got me my first bracelet for my 18th – more than seven years later and I’m still collecting them.
This first bangle is a really old one of my mom’s that she gave to me when we were clearing out her room a few years ago.
My mom got me this for my 25th late last year. As I’ve talked about, turning 25 was a really big deal for me so this piece is so important to me.
This Tiffany & Co bangle belonged to my aunty and she gave it to me a few years ago. Just like with the bangle my mom gave me, it feels so special to wear something that once belonged to someone else.
My sisters bought me this rose gold Michael Kors watch for my 21st birthday. I’d wanted a watch for so long so I was overjoyed when they offered to buy me one.
These two bracelets are my oldest pieces. My grandparents bought me the gold bracelet with my name on it when I was a baby and my parents gave me the silver charm bracelet.
These pieces are so dear to my heart and were given to me by my late best friend. I don’t wear them often as they’re so precious but I pull them out every now and then just to look at them and remember him.
