As I mentioned earlier this week we’re getting closer to our move. We’ve now got a lot of the big pieces sorted so I’m starting to think about art for the walls. I’ll be doing a gallery wall (or two) in the house, as well as hanging a few pieces on their own. We’re aiming to DIY a lot of items for the house ourselves – and art pieces are no exception to that. I’m a huge fan of stripes and lines so I created this piece based off that. The design of this DIY striped wall art is a great mix of fun and simple and can be easily personalised based on the colours you use. I wanted to use a lot of colour in mine as so far we’re really missing that in our décor plans.
NEWSPAPER OR SCRAP PAPER
THICK PAINT BRUSH
ART PAPER OR CANVAS
1. Lay out the newspaper or scrap paper to protect the surface you’re working on.
2. Dip the paint brush into your first colour.
3. Paint a stripe starting from the very edge of one side going across until the paint starts to fade out.
4. Repeat with your second colour, then third colour and so forth.
